*Poindexter Dental provides special needs accommodations. Established in 1956. In 1956, Dr. Zeb F. Poindexter Jr. became the first African-American to graduate from the University of Texas Dental School. Shortly after, he started his first practice in east Houston. In 1960, he built the Sunnyside Clinic on Cullen Boulevard, which still stands today as Poindexter Dental, Inc.
After practicing for 42 years, Dr. Poindexter retired in 2000, leaving behind a legacy for future generations to follow.
Dr. Zeb F. Poindexter III continued in his father’s footsteps, graduating from the University of Texas Dental School in 1984. Dr. Poindexter is distinguished as one of Houston’s Health Care Heroes, and is certified in numerous dental specialties.
