In 1991 Dr. Michael Mansfield opened Southwest Center for Jaw Surgery at 57th Ave. & Thunderbird Rd. Dr. Mansfield moved to Arizona, having retired from the US Air Force. In 2005, the practice was moved to its current location at 6677 W. Thunderbird Rd. Glendale, AZ 85306.
In 2010, Dr. Mansfield sold the practice to Robert J. Buch, DDS, MD. The practice was renamed Southwest Oral Surgery & under the leadership of Dr. Buch, the practice has steadily grown and undergone a physical expansion. In 2017 the adjacent office space was purchased and renovated to accommodate the increasing needs of our patients. We now have 6 surgical suites, 2 consultation rooms, 3 recovery chairs, and a large multimedia room which is used to provide education to doctors and their teams.
